Designed and slowly made in Los Angeles
AURORO fine jewelry is thoughtfully designed and slowly made in Los Angeles using hand-selected and hand-cut gemstones set in 14k or 18k gold. We do limited runs of some designs and will never mass produce, so they remain special. Our designs mix nostalgia, play and pop colors of the 90s—the time in which Sarah and I grew up—with an elevated and relevant approach to fine jewelry.

This is the story of two friends which could become a streaming series or a film - about how they met in high school, continued their friendship into their 40s and started a jewelry company on a text chain from Japan to Los Angeles and how their relationship and company is still going strong.
Most of their designs are set with colorful gemstones or feature lucky talisman –but always with a surprising twist—like two girls who met unexpectedly in a math class— their jewelry is about fine jewelry that is fun, what women are drawn to and longevity—much like their friendship over the past 27 some odd years.

Like many designers who transitioned into jewelry design, I couldn’t find the pieces I wanted to wear, so I began researching and building connections in downtown LA to create pieces for myself. I was also fortunate to have a chic, cosmopolitan mother who introduced me to the world of jewelry from a young age. Originally from Hong Kong, she taught me how to distinguish superior jade, identify prize pearls, and understand the meanings and symbolism behind various pieces of jewelry, but I never imagined jewelry would become my career.
I first began designing by reinventing family heirlooms that I no longer wore. I knew how to sketch and began having some pieces done in CAD and then cast and set with colorful stones. The more I designed, the more I realized that my aesthetic had a distinct sensibility: a blend of nostalgia, whimsy, and the pop colors of the '90s—when I grew up—infused with an elevated, modern approach to fine jewelry.
My goal is to reinvigorate familiar, relatable concepts into jewelry that has a sense of wit, surprise, and always a touch of drama.

Like most meaningful things in my life, AURORO started with a friendship—and a lot of texts exchanges. Tiffany and I had always shared a love for storytelling,
sentimentality, and jewelry that means something. We wanted to create pieces
that felt nostalgic and personal, but also a little unexpected - jewelry with feeling, and some edge. The kind of thing you’d wear every day, pass down one day, or never take off.
I’ve always been drawn to the emotional side of things - how a piece of jewelry can anchor a memory, mark a moment, or make you feel a little more like yourself. That perspective shaped the foundation of AURORO and continues to influence the way I approach both life and work.
Outside of AURORO, I lead incredible teams at Pinterest, where I help some of the world’s most iconic brands grow through strategy, creativity, and heart. I live in San Francisco with my son, Fox - my greatest teacher and the center of my world. He’s the reason I move fast, stay grounded, and find meaning in the small stuff.
AURORO is a love letter to all of that: to friendship, memory, expression, and making things that last. I hope our pieces bring a little beauty and a lot of heart
into your world, too.
